Background

DS International, Inc. is the vision of entrepreneur George Tsai. Since 1989, he has used his engineering background to design and create custom keyboards to fit a wide range of applications for our clientele. The projects include keyboards used by the United Stated Postal Service (USPS) and UPS (United Parcel Service) distribution centers. George has also designed keyboards for use with banking/financial applications and server rack mount systems as well.

Our design and manufacturing capabilities extend from single station keypads to fully multifunctional input subsystems, incorporating keypads and cursor devices. While we create products directly for end users, DSI also supports the manufacturing of products designed to facilitate distributor requests and OEM marketing.

Beginning in 1996, DS International developed accessories for PDA devices. Using aircraft-grade aluminum in our hard cases has been a huge success. We manufacture these products in Taiwan and China; therefore the quality and prices of these protective cases are to be as successful as the design and functionality of the PDA case itself.

In 1997, DSI was the prime subcontractor for Genovation, Inc., for the USPS IRT3 keyboard. We worked directly with USPS Maryland Engineering Department on the CFSII Sortation Data Entry Station. DSI provided various engineering prototype keyboards to meet the MIL-SPEC standard. During the development period, George proposed cost saving alternatives and eventually reduced the original project budget by almost 200%. Two years of long and tough qualifications resulted in a contract being awarded in 1999 for the CFSII project Since then DSI has developed various data input devices for various agencies: USAF, USN, NYMEC (New York Mercantile Exchange), Btoomberg,and UPS, to name a few. These keyboards were for Court Reporters, Ergonomic designs, financial institutions, Point of Sales, and Industrial Workstations.

In 2005, DSI became the first Asian supplier to Segway to provide the fender for the i180 Segway Human Transporter.
